About Us…
My family started Better Air 4U based on a personal experience we had with mold. My son and daughter-in-law were living in an apartment in TN and slowly over time mold started appearing in various places. They reported the mold issue to the apartment complex and the service requests were ignored by the apartment complex over and over again. So over time, the mold was spreading. Eventually they purchased a house and when we were packing up for the move is when we discovered the damage that this mold has caused. There was mold in the deep corners of the closet (had to throw away many shoes and purses), there was mold in the walls and baseboards behind ottomans and bookcases that were against the wall (those furniture items were thrown away), there was even mold behind the pictures hanging on the walls (since the mold transferred to the back of the pictures, they were also thrown away). After further evaluation there was mold in their sofa and chair (that were suspended in the middle of the room). Like all other moldy items discovered, they were thrown away. The financial impact this mold had was significant. We didn’t have enough time to start this company to save their items so we were hoping we could get this up and running to make sure no one else had to endure such a financial impact.
Our story was mainly financially based but we all know the health risks associated with mold. We are still questioning if some health issues my son and daughter-in-law are facing are related to this mold exposure but in all honesty that is not confirmed yet. So, our story cannot focus on health issues at this point. BUT there are numerous other stories out there that will disclose the health risks associated with mold exposure. After many years as a technical sales representative in the wood industry, I learned there was a significant amount of health issues people were dealing with due to mold, fungus and bacteria in their house as well as at work. I would get calls on a regular basis from people looking for ways to prevent mold, fungus and bacteria from destroying their health and their homes.
During this whole experience of mold issues and having to deal with them, we have learned how tremendously expensive it can be to properly clean up mold inside a home and how so few remediation companies use non-toxic methods to do the work. That leads me into the other major issue - the toxicity of the chemicals used to kill the mold can be just as bad for health as the mold itself!
With Better Air 4U of the Triad, we offer a chemical-free alternative to traditional remediation and tear-out methods, which gives us the opportunity to potentially save our customers thousands of dollars in remediation clean-up and repair costs. By killing all of the mold in the air, clothing, linens, carpets, surfaces, and even behind the walls throughout the home or office, we can effectively eliminate the harmful spores and mycotoxins that are the major threat to your health.
Give us a call any time, we would love to help you.
To your health,
Scott Skinner

Sick Building Syndrome and Poor Indoor Air Quality
What is Sick Building Syndrome (SBS)?
“Sick Building Syndrome” (SBS), coined by the WHO in 1986, refers to ailments that occur as a result of spending long periods of time in a well-sealed, poorly ventilated building or home. Unfortunately, these days, most modern buildings and homes have been built with energy saving methods in mind, which lead to higher risk of SBS due to poor air exchange rates and accumulation of toxins inside of the HVAC system and the structure itself.
It has been estimated, as far back as 1984 by WHO, that one-third of newly constructed homes and buildings contain harmful building materials in some form or fashion. This trend has continued up until present day, and the numbers have substantially grown with the ever- increasing use of synthetic building materials and products. SBS is not limited to VOCs or other off-gassing synthetic chemicals and toxins, in fact, one of the biggest contributors to poor indoor air quality is mold growth. Mold is a type of fungus that is extremely resilient and can propagate within 36-48 hours of a water-intrusion event such as a busted or leaky pipe, roof leak, shower or toilet leak, flood event, or even sustained humidity levels of 55% or higher.
Symptoms and Long-Term Consequences of Poor Air Quality
Common acute symptoms of SBS include sniffles; stuffy noses; coughing; itchy eyes; sinus infections; scratchy throats; dry, irritated skin; upset stomachs; headaches; difficulty concentrating; and fatigue or lethargy.
Long-term effects can be much more serious and there are many studies that show that they can result in the following: serious chronic respiratory diseases, chronic fungal sinusitis and nasal polyps, heart disease, and cancer.
One of the biggest challenges with SBS is that it can often go misdiagnosed and untreated for a long time (or at least the original cause is not recognized). Many doctors still do not understand the scope or the impact of indoor air quality on the body and its long-term effects on overall health.
A major indicator that your indoor air at your home or office is causing issues is whether you feel better once you leave the place in question for a period of time. Ideally this would be a time period of at least a week to see if there is a difference felt. If your symptoms begin to slowly subside while you are away from the suspect location, that is a big hint that you may have a problem with the indoor air at that particular indoor space.
The Good News...
Our bodies are perfectly designed organic machines capable of filtering and self-healing when operating in a normal, low-toxin environment while receiving the proper nutrients. What has happened in the last 50-60 years here in the U.S. and many other countries, is that our food, water, and air has been subjected to a non-stop onslaught of toxic chemicals which has put our immune system under attack.
Our immune system spends 100% of its energy trying to keep the body going by filtering and fighting off all the toxins we take in from our environment. However, if the body is not properly detoxed and the environment situation not repaired, there will come a time where the toxins begin to build up and overwhelm the body's defense systems, which will eventually lead to chronic illness or worse.
Our Air Purification Technology
Better Air 4U Technology Difference…
This amazing, patented technology is The ULTIMATE Air Sanitation Process:
Better Air 4U of the Triad, LLC uses the latest technology designed by NASA Engineers for use on their Space Station. It has proved to be the best method for purifying the air. It will kill Mold, Odors and Sick Building Syndrome in about a day, guaranteed or it’s free! Our one-of-a-kind technology uses no chemicals, sprays, foggers, nor leaves behind residual products. The machine contains proprietary germicidal lamps with a long enough exposure to disinfect an entire place including the HVAC system and air ducts. It takes about 20 hours to be effective on destroying 99.9% of indoor toxins including mold, viruses, bacteria, pollen’s, dust mites, musty odors, smoke odors, death odor, microbial growth, sulfur, off-gassing, formaldehyde and many other sick building syndrome pollutants.
Basically, our machines seek out oxygen inside the structure and devour it at 32 cubic feet per minute. Once all the air in each room has been gobbled up, they begin to pull oxygen in from the HVAC ducts and system, electrical outlets, baseboards, inside the walls and any other crevice where oxygen may be present. What returns is super-oxygenated air that helps restore health. Our non- invasive service is organic and helps 200 health illnesses! There is one side effect, it helps kills bugs too. This process is 100% safe and leaves nothing toxic behind -- all while killing bacteria, viruses, mold, bugs, etc. that have set up shop in the HVAC system, inside walls, cabinets, clothing, bedding, furniture, electronics, carpets, closets, plants, food, dishwashers, drains and more without harming your possessions or food!
As soon as the machines are turned off or a door is opened, the molecules immediately start going back together. There is a SUPER CLEAN SMELL after the treatment, which has been described as something similar to the smell of air after a large thunderstorm. This service is extremely cost effective with reduction of tear outs/ removal of walls, flooring, ceilings, trim work, etc. as well as disposing of household items, including cloths, furniture, decorations and more as long as there is no structure damage to any of these items. Plus, our clients more often find relief of many mold related health issues
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the primary concerns of mold infestation?
Mold exists in all structures, virtually everywhere, floating in the air and on all surfaces. Many building materials such as wood, sheetrock, etc. provide the “food” that can support mold growth. Even dust that has settled on these materials or furniture can be a food source for molds.
Mold needs to eat to survive, and it’s perfectly happy eating your home, if you allow it. But health risks arise when the levels are too high, and most people don’t even consider the possibility of an infected home or workplace; most Doctor’s don’t even delve into the chance that their patient’s condition is due to indoor air quality issues, even though the media has identified and covered several instances of mold making people sick.
According to the EPA, all indoor mold growth should be removed promptly, no matter what type(s) of mold are present, or whether or not it can produce toxic mold. It’s not a myth, prolonged exposure to mold increases health risks.
How does mold originate, and where does it reside?
Mold only needs a few things to grow and multiply; Nutrients (food), a suitable place to grow, and moisture. Molds can grow almost anywhere there is enough moisture or high humidity. The Moisture can come from our bodies (sweat, wet hair on pillows, breath), steam, moist air from outdoors, tiny plumbing leak, clothes that aren’t fully dried , and a host of other reasons.
Mold often appears as a staining or fuzzy growth on furniture, walls, ceilings, or anything made of wood or paper. It can smell like an earthy, or musty odor, though oftentimes it’s undetectable. Mold colors range from white, gray, brown, black, yellow, or green.
What promotes mold exposure?
Exposure increases when indoor moldy materials become dried, damaged or disturbed, causing spores and other mold cells to be released into the air and consequently inhaled. Elevated exposure to mold may also occur if a person directly handles moldy materials or accidentally ingests non edible molds.

Can’t I just use bleach to eradicate mold?
Bleach does not kill mold, it only removes the color. When you treat mold in your bathroom, you effectively eliminate the appearance; but it comes back in the same place, doesn’t it? Not only does it not work, but the when the mold comes back, its roots become even more resilient, not to mention that bleach is an incredibly caustic chemical.
Will Paint and / or Primer kill mold?
The simple answer is No. It can seal the problem for a short while, but it will return. After our treatment plan is complete, that is a good time to prime, and we recommend the use of an oil based primer. Water based primers are ok as well, but not as effective.
Newer Homes and Buildings are immune to the mold problem, right?
Unfortunately this is Not true. Building materials, lumber and trusses sitting outside in the rain too long, can all become infested, and the mold can show up several months after the structure is complete. Some molds will lay dormant until moisture re-activates them.
How are Condos and Apartment complexes affected?
There are a large amount of Condos and Apartment complexes in Volusia County that have had one or more units that suffered some kind of water damage and consequently, mold infestation. Because of the close proximity, mold can spread from unit to unit.
How can mold affect one’s health?
This answer is not meant to scare you, but it is real. Mold can grow in the lungs and on the spine. It can cause paralysis, eye fungus, and the toxic effects of fungal exposure and deadly mycotoxins can compromise the immune system. Reoccurring bronchitis is commonly caused from tainted indoor environments.
Too many times, testing and eradication is performed after the damage is done, this is why we promote the eradication of even the possibility of mold, especially in surroundings that you spend most of your time in. In rare cases, mold can even produce arsenic gas and cause permanent brain damage.
People that suffer from allergies, breathing impairments, nasal and sinus congestion, nose and throat irritation, and migraine headaches should make the O3 Wizard treatment their Top Priority.
What are the ancillary benefits of our treatment?
Our treatment is approved for decontamination for red bag rooms, biohazards, blood, feces, linens, and needles used in the medical industry and hospitals. It effectively kills MERSA as well as aerobic (with air) and anaerobic (without air) contaminants. Given this power, your home or workplace is more than covered.
